Virtual blogger rant!!!

Wake up and smell the tangerines!!!

That’s what I actually pictured in my head doing this photo but then things came to my attention and for some reason it seemed quite fitting.

I’m not referring to a certain event in this blog as frankly I do not wish to taint the gorgeousness of this outfit nor this lovely creator, but I   will say I work with a number of creators and events managers who behave in a very professional fair way. If I have ever had issue believe me I wont let it sit I deal with it. So those that I blog for I appreciate with all my heart for their professionalism.

I have removed the video as I was approached by the person this affects to do so and because I value this person as I do I have done so. . Is it gone. No it sits on my hardrive.

I will be discussing the issues surrounding copyright etc and will liaise with other vloggers and long time bloggers on this for the benefit of all the bloggers and vloggers out there.

Let me say to you all now. If you are having issues in Second Life and feel you are pushed into a corner and have to jump two foot higher than you realistically need to.

You dont! Reach out to me and I will happily talk to you and offer some advice. At the end of the day no one ever needs to feel pushed into any corners because of any reason in this virtual world

You have rights in reality and you have rights in virtual reality.

I leave the blank video down below as a reminder that my words were very loud and clear in that video.

  1. That is messed up on so many levels.

The way that YouTube’s DMCA system works makes it trivially easy to abuse to punish content creators, steal their work and earnings, and ruin their reputation. You’re right to point out that putting a logo on your video could open you up to trouble in the future if the owner then decides they don’t like your video.

Quite why the organizers of this event went about this the way they did, I can only hazard a guess. From your description, it sounds like panic followed by attempted ass-covering to hide their mistake.

If I’d been in that vlogger’s shoes, I’d have not used the event logo at all, stated up-front why, then done a tour of the event with the focus on the offerings. I might even have gone as far as cropping shots to make sure the event logo never appeared.

On a personal note, I’ve no interest in getting paid to promote stuff in Second Life, but I can understand why some might consider it. As it is, I try to minimize the amount of shopping I do in-world, and only buy stuff that I’m likely to actually use. (I’m also cutting back on freebies and discounted items, using the same criteria.) Truth be told, I find most events a chore, and only go when I know there’s something I might be interested in.

  2. Very well ranted, Isabelle. Good and honest video.

When and if I blog about an event, which happens almost never, I go there as myself, as a normal visitor … and blog about it in guerilla style. They don’t owe me anything … and neither do I owe them fukall.

    1. Love the Guerrilla style idea lol
I’m not a huge shopper as in rl fact is times are getting tough. But as a blogger and a vlogger we spend outside the box to make our posts look as best we can.
Consider the software people invest in to make said pictures look better (clearly I’m a novice in that area but I still also invested. Site fees, filming software and updates to said software on top of other items to accentuate the posts people do. It’s a hobby and a passion but still costs. So it’s a two street and it’s let’s face it free advertising for merchants to make them to money!!!

      1. Yes, of course it’s all for the benefit of the bizniz people. And that’s why I don’t blog such shopping events. They have enough shills to promote their stuff.

I only blog the big ones, hair fair, skin fair and stuff.

      2. Well video I deleted. I will redo later. Person feels worried about it. So out of respect I did do but will redo a vlog as frankly I’m not keeping quit about behaviours

      3. No there’s a reason for that and I was specifically asked by the person affected. At the end of the day I have to make sure my actions don’t further cause any issue. Read into those words as that’s all I’m saying “for now”.

  3. Thank you Is for looking out for us other vloggers & bloggers it’s truly sweet and mindful of you to do so. If I can do anything please feel free to call on me. Hugs & luv ya my friend ❤
