Pick up a phone

Pick up a phone

Another weekend escapes me and tomorrow it’s back to the same old routine. Roll out of bed, breakfast and work. On and on and on.

No seeing anyone apart from the housemate and wondering when my life can pick up again.

I had a lovely video call with my grandson Mason today and it made my day. The sad thing about the call after I said how much I missed him he said “Grandma you’re not in our social bubble so I can’t hug you”.

It cut me inside because no child should grow up seeing life in this way.

It’s January 2021 and it’s been nearly 11 months that we have been living this surreal life.

One thing during this period is I have learnt about friendships and who is really there when we need them. You know, people who you can count on to listen to you and just talk.

I’ve learnt who are not genuine and the selfishness of some I had never noticed before. Ive never been more alone than I am right now and yet at the end of a phone, there’s the path to feeling not alone.

Tangible but not within reach. But still there.

Pick up a phone and ring someone. You just may make them feel less alone.

Lexy Panterra Twerk

Lexy Panterra Twerk

When I knew this was coming, I have to say I fangirled big time.

This gal can dance!!! I mean seriously if I tried to move my butt cheeks like her, I’m sure I would pull my back right out and lose my left cheek to the abyss out there.

I believe this is the hugest and I mean hugest followed dancer Paragon Dance Animations have brought into Second Life.

I didn’t even have to explain to my real life friends who this lady was, they knew straight off the bat.

I’m excited to bright this to you. No gimmick no flashing Spielberg effects, just straight out let you see this dance.

Enjoy…..

Performance captured by Lexy Panterra, celebrity twerk instructor & social media twerk icon. Her unique mesmerizing moves shows that it’s not the size of the bounce, but the magic of the dribble

Paragon Facts:

In the USA, Twerking is a popular booty shaking style of dance that evolved from the New Orleans style of hip-hop known as “bounce” from the bounce music scene in the 1980s. The word “twerking” first appeared on record in the song “Do the Jubilee All” by DJ Jubilee in 1993, in which he chanted, “Twerk baby, twerk baby, twerk, twerk, twerk.

There’s always a story to tell

There’s always a story to tell

I’m sat here on my sofa after attending the Second Life Book club. Sadly I was there in spirit rather than hearing presence as my earphones are broken. The reason was my house mate was watching a film so it’s rude to sit there with the computer blasting away on loud speaker.

That’s ok as the great thing about the book club streams are you can listen to them later if you missed them at all. So there’s always a plus there if you look for it.

I’m considering my list of to do things now and I feel I have not enough hours in any one day to do all the things I want to do. That’s pretty much summing me up at the moment. A head full of ideas that need a mind map to plan them!

The best place to do it would be by the lake relaxing in a teepee hut with the water trickling away behind me as my head gathers and I write each thought down. Very much like my virtual image here.

I actually have a novel in my head. It’s been there for many years. The actual first sentence is the challenge because at what point do I begin.

That has been my dilemma for as long as I can remember, also the manner in which I write. That may require some work I’m all too aware.

The novel is to be about a girl who travels through life never knowing where she fits and where she is headed. It begins in childhood with a family background that is not usual. Not conforming and full of moments of fear and at the same time love.

One day I’ll begin. Just not yet. I’m not ready to tell that story till I know the ending.

My nails look good

My nails look good

I’ve just been watching Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Junior and Jude Law. Why haven’t I seen this before?

Great film and the sight of Robert Downey naked strapped to a bed with a lovely floral pillow for his modesty. Well that made the film!!!

I’ve never really been into Sherlock Holmes, mainly because I’m more a modernist type film buff. When I say modernist, I mean in terms of look and era. So maybe I change my mind now.

In other news Drax sent this following link to a few and I watched. Then I watched a second time.

It really is interesting and if you don’t mind subtitles it’s worth watching due to the subject. It does make you think. I say no more.

The Tutorial

The Tutorial

It had to done right? I mean you agree? Thelma had to be given a job.

Not just any job, she has been entrusted with doing the Bite Size tutorials and using her very extensive knowledge to impart skills to her viewers.

Of course she has her own style. In that now Thelma feels part of the work force again and will earn pennies for little Trevor. Trevor is an aspiring child model and Thelma needs to ensure he gets the best portfolio for him.

Bite size. It’s the way to go.

What can I say

What can I say

I’ve not been feeling the greatest this past week. I’ve slept on and off the past few days. Hence no blogs or videos. Apologies.

I’m feeling disturbed to the point that I have to lay here in bed writing this. It’s so late but I slept so much today I’m now wide awake.

Remember the Mandela Effect?

It feels like currently right now the world is experiencing this.

People are genuinely believing this pandemic doesn’t exist and it’s a form of control by governments! The other side (people like me) thinking vastly differently and that we need to eradicate this.

No this doesn’t refer to two sides of my mind. This is about two individuals living the same time but walking a different but same path. Seeing the same things but the perceptive belief is vastly different.

It is quite scary how there are the people like me who are understanding what is going on and what we need to do. It’s the others that scare me. They’re so caught up in their theories and truly believe them.

It’s a form of insanity to me to hear how people believe, truly believe that governments are doing this to control them. What on earth are these people listening to?

There’s no logic in their defence and not for one second do they notice the glaringly obvious . What government chooses to lose its economy willingly? Why?

I’m not keen on politicians at the best of times. They’re all flawed with one or other things. However I’m not daft enough to believe governments around the world are deliberately sabotaging their people and economies to gain some kind of mind control over their populations.

That sounds a little bit like cray crazy to me. Ok. A lot!!! So explain to me this vastly different set of views? How did it happen? Where did it start?

I have a theory. The Mandela Effect. It’s out of control. It’s slowly seeping and spreading and dividing people.

You can see it in not only the Pandemic but also the very divided cultural and social beliefs.

It’s the year 2021 and we have just stepped 5 feet back against the direction we were meant to be heading

Does that surprise me at all? Not really. Humanity hasn’t learnt its lessons yet and has somewhat of a long journey to go.

Humans are their own worst enemy at times and led by the snout usually. Humans have a tendency to gather and pack into groups, often without any real tangible reason than the sense of belonging.

Mix that with a tablespoon of social media, a drop or two of suggestive subliminal media and what to do you get? A pack. Blindly following.

I’m going to call it the Two Step Effect.

It’s almost like a dance whereby the two packs run to a drum beat alongside each other. Yet they dance different beats to the same drum.

Whose drum is right and whose is wrong?

Imagine

Imagine

Let’s pretend we are already starting the summer and we are all out and about and life has returned to normal. Whatever normal is. Let’s just believe it and it will come.

Ok, I failed to mention that reality has it raining right now and I’m patiently waiting for a grocery delivery.

One of the things I love about life is we can take moments and make the best of them. Turn winter into summer if we want. Imagination is amazing like that. As is use of technology when we choose to use it.

Last night was one such moment. I spent the night doing something else with a lovely friend and had the best fun. Met new friends and we just had fun!!!!

My RL friends don’t understand virtual friendships and finding fun in a new way. After a year of lockdown you would imagine they would by now understand, that in time we need to consider the future. What it means and where we may have to go.

I would say that many of us have discovered the future quite a while ago and loneliness can be lessened by connecting with people.

You don’t need to be in the same space as someone to laugh, cry and feel appreciated. I love my friend as he is the loveliest male human I know. Well aside from my family humans.

We have never met. But we talk all the time and at the same time give each other space. He is an ear to my whines and low moments and I hope I am to him. That’s friendship. Simple.

So today although it’s cold, miserable and raining. I feel ok. I feel content and each day looking forward to time with my children and friends.

In the meantime I have my VR friends who one day I hope to meet because they have given me so much and for that I appreciate each one of them.

Happy New year

Happy New year

I’m a little worse for wear this morning. I partied and drank rhubarb gin until the early hours of 3am U.K. time and had a great night.

Yorkie, Rosie, Guy and me spent our evening as Strawberry’s flash mob. Poor lady couldn’t get away from us. Then Maddie joined us a little later and we ended up dancing about in the snow in my front garden

All in our virtual world, because let’s face it, reality has tightly locked us down at the moment.

I couldn’t think of a better way to spend the night and I’ll share some of the photos below the credits.

Happy New Year!!!
