Tinder Dates!

Our society has become a little bit disposable in its attitude to matters of the heart.

I remember the “olden days” when you met someone and you fell hook line and sinker and you appreciated that person for all their good and bad.

Roll on to 2020 and let’s face it, those hook line and sinker butterfly feelings don’t quite last and matters of the heart and such are very transient.

Once they dissipate people these days tend to then move onto the next eye candy that they want to taste better and riper candies. The only thing is those riper candies also soon lose their flavours. Then what?

Any wonder trust and the love word have became less meaningful and devalued.

Social media such as Facebook and Instagram are the medium where people post their heady “love pics”, fooling onlookers into believing that life is perfect etc etc.

But it rarely is.

The facts are that people are less honest about life these days, filtering it all to look great and when things go wrong, things are disposable and they just find the next colourful bite.

That’s our modern reality.

How many heady love moments have you had where you were suddenly swiped left because they swiped right for someone else?

  1. Fab post and soooo darn true for RL & SL (SL is way worse!). I’m a diehard romanic and think of myself as a very “old fashion girl” I really never went in for any online or media looking for love things. When I fall in love I wanted it to be in rl, face to face and one of those “happen” moments. Lucky me its exactly how Dave & I met and fell in love. I feel blessed after hearing so many horror stories. Unfortunately I think a lot of people model they’re lives/loves after celebrities and you know how most of those usually end up in shambles. Yes, I’m very blessed to have met Dave my true love of my life.
