Would you believe I slept like a giant sized baby last night and it was bliss.
I’ve had a issue the past few weeks with sleep and my brain slowing down and really found I was getting only 3-4 hours of that sleep a night.
I personally cannot function properly on little sleep and it’s been hard to keep to my routine and not give into it. I function best on 7 hours.
Finally last night I slept. What was the secret I hear you say? Detaching from social media for most of my day, and before sleeping, turning the iphone away and just playing with the cats and relaxing my mind so that it slowed down and was almost like a slow steady heartbeat.
A lot has to be said for internet, social media and the like that’s so positive.
But a lot has to also be said about some of the impacts it has on you.
Draxtor Despres has an excellent attitude to it all. Switch off and engage with life.
I’ve learnt that he turns off regularly and spends time doing other things and only goes to social media at selected moments. It’s not 24/7 and actually I think we could all benefit from this.
Most of my issues stems from my Fibro but also I do feel engagement in these electronic activities has a great impact on us.
We don’t notice it until our minds are working overtime. Consider the fact many work on computers all day, then afterwards social media, television and gaming.
What opportunity are we giving ourselves to relax completely and interact with life around us?
We walk the streets and everywhere you look are people with their heads buried in their electronic devices, staring at the little screens as they walk.
What kind of world will we be in ten years from now? Will people even walk out their front doors?
Let’s take a positive action to limit our time and engage more with what is around us.

I took steps to establish a regular sleep pattern, and it has worked wonders for my mental and physical health. 7-8 hours seems to be the sweet spot for me. Under 6, and I can feel the crankiness rising.
I’ve also noticed the improvement from dialling down both my social media and TV/radio consumption. Instead I have a reading list and podcasts, which I can dip into when I’m ready. And yes, your blog and The Drax Files are in there. 🙂

Awww thank you. Yes I’m warning myself from being available 24/7 as it’s not good I don’t think .
