Well what can I say 17 hours of me sitting on the edge of my seat listening to winds whirling against my apartment and me jumping every time a gust hit the roof. Glad it appears over.
I’m also glad to be in bed now and going to get some sleep.
Frankly I’m a very scared person in high winds and lightening.
I saw the devastation both can cause when I was young and it has left me with, some may say irrational fear.
But, is it irrational? The fact is weather allows you some kind of foresight into its path but it can’t be controlled by us mere humans and so it’s very much an unpredictable force. Treat it so.
So I have an immense respect for it and never assume I can predict its path.
So yes I embarrassingly admit I packed a bag with clothes and got the cat boxes ready by my front door for the “in case” I had to go.
I also set up a what’s app group for my family for the “in case” things get worse.
I won’t tell you what their reactions were but suffice to say. If you aren’t prepared then how can you deal with such a situation.
Shhhhh don’t tell anyone my craziness. My kids already facepalm!
