Todays Lesson

I feel like the teacher and not the student here.

Something about feeling like I’m a teenager again is very appealing.

Sadly the fact is I’m far removed from being a teenager as could possibly be.

Today I’m on the bus reflecting a little. Actually not reflecting, panicking.

My son and 5 of his mates are off on a mountain climb expedition.

To climb the 3 tallest mountains in the UK.

The first will be Scotlands Ben Nevis.

Now of course I’m proud etc, but worried too.

You see my son and his mates haven’t even climbed an ant hill in their lives and their idea of training for this was a group jog twice a week for the last month. Yep that’s it!

There are organised groups for this but they are doing this alone.

The drive there will take approximately 11 hours and so they will reach Ben Nevis in Scotland by sundown tonight. They intend to climb in the dark. Yes you read that correctly.

Am I a worried mother, you’re damn right I am.

So I doubt over the next 4 days I’ll be quite at peace until he walks back through the front door intact.

Seriously this having children malarkey, you never ever stop worrying.

Mind you, I have 4 days of naked running around and doing as I please without worrying about mother modesty!!!

I may as well enjoy it.

Now for the video lesson…..

  1. As long as they inform the right people before they start each climb, they should be fine! If they can’t do the climbs at their age, then there is something seriously wrong. But then I know mums, they worry about everything 🙂
