I was looking at an old friends Facebook feed and this photo just so reminded me of her. My friend has never been afraid to do those poses. You know the selfies just like this, touching her hair, holding a flower. Trying to look like it was the most natural moment happening. The selfie timer going off.
I’m pretty sure I captured that moment in my pixel picture. So much so I’ve been giggling to myself all evening.
It really is pretty funny to me as my avatar looked just as awkward and unnatural as my friend usually looks.
But to be honest I love her pictures because they’re so awkward and not so perfect. The world and people in it are as beautiful or as ugly as you’re eyes let you see. But if you look beyond all that, the awkward person staring back at you, unsure yet giving it a go? That’s the beautiful person.
