I hate when my phone goes off.
Every buzz feels personal. Like my phone is tapping me on the shoulder just to say, “Hey. Nothing important. Just vibes.”
It’s never good news. It’s never life changing. It’s always an app I don’t remember downloading or a notification about something I’ve already dealt with. Or a group text I didn’t need to read.
And it goes off constantly. I’m not even popular. No one needs me. This is not an emergency hotline. Yet my phone behaves like it’s running a crisis centre.
Sometimes I don’t even check it. I just stare at it, exasperated, like, What do you want from me now?
I’ve tried silent mode. Do Not Disturb. Turning notifications off one by one. Still it sounds off.”
At this point I’m convinced my phone feeds on my last nerve.
One day I’ll throw it in a drawer and know peace.
