This week has been one long waiting game. The systems at work decided to take a little holiday of their own, crashing, glitching, refusing to load, or just staring blankly back at me as live but not live!
So instead of working, I’ve been… “working.” You know, sitting there with my screen open, half-pretending to be busy while actually doing nothing because nothing actually worked.
It’s the strange limbo of employment: being present, but powerless.
The oddest part is how tiring it is. You’d think not being able to do anything would feel like a break, but instead it’s like being stuck in an eye exam staring at the one letter on the screen.
Hopefully next week the systems will remember what they’re supposed to do, otherwise I might start to forget what I’m supposed to do.
