Fake it to make it

The thought of diving into a pool right now is seriously tempting.

Quite a few of my friends are taking holidays in Europe or over to the Spanish islands and I’m feeling a little envious as I love the sea and beaches.

Alas this year its solely in the virtual world as my year has too many obstacles for me to even think about a break. It takes money, and right now money is ear marked for my sons wedding and daughters 30th this year. Literally a few weeks apart from each.

All the summer things are coming out in both worlds and I have been eyeing up summer clothes and putting them into my shopping baskets but also asking myself, hell when will I wear them? After all I work from home. Seems daft but Ive decided that every work day needs to feel good and so have started dressing up a bit more and doing my hair and face. Just in case! You never know when someone may pop by.

Now let me tell you a story about popping by when you least expect people.

Today I gave myself a fake tan. Second attempt at it to give myself a summer glow. Now it’s not a pretty sight let me tell you. You slather that stuff on and what’s great about it you can see where you are putting it. Though the sight you look for the 8 hours while it develops is not pretty. I looked like a woman having dipped in mud let it dry on me.

So what happens? The hunky next door neighbour rings my doorbell to pick up some post I had of his.

Poor guy didn’t know what to think so I just smiled and said oh hey I’m tanning but here’s your post. He was laughing as I closed the door, god the embarrassment.

  1. “Europe or over to the Spanish islands”

The Baleares (Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca) are in the Med, clearly inside Europe; the Canary islands are an autonomous region of Spain and therefor politically part of Europe.
