Cyberpunk meets Dubstep at Hangars Liquides

No Coffee chats today.

This week I promised myself and some good people I would spend my time raising the awareness of the amazing Hangars Liquides the largest and longest running cyberpunk city in the world.

The entire visual content is crafted in 3D, by artist Djehan Kidd, all the textures are hand painted. The sound design has been entirely created for the city by Laurent Mialon, composer and founder of Hangars Liquides.

– THE MEANING OF THE ART WORK –

Hangars Liquides is a work evolving around our dystopian reality.

Throughout the city you will find illustrations and reminders of our dystopian reality. Historical facts that led us to where we stand now. 911, Tien An Men, Slavery, WW2 memorials, and so on, everything that highlights how humans are able to hate one another, can be displayed in the city. I want to push people so they have no choice but remember these things, for we all live in a consumerist environment, both online and offline : Pier Paolo Pasolini said that “consumerism spreads faster than fascism, so much we didn’t see it come”, indeed, what are we able to see of this world when we are too self absorbed about ourselves only, what happened to Narcissus. I think that this is what consumerism does to us, like a sedative drug, if we are blinded so much we wont see anything come. This is why I am part of a non profit organization, as an artist, because I intend to use online platforms to spread a message to the people, through art, in this case, the message is to open our eyes on our present oppressive dystopia, and even if we feel unable to act or do anything to change the world, at least we can try to come up clean in the act of intellectual honesty that consists into looking at ourselves for what we are, the city is a mirror of this.
