We spend our lives balancing what we want and what we “have to” do.

That’s reality as it is.

Unfortunately no matter where you are and who you are, balancing is an important skill you have to learn pretty fast in life.

If you don’t partake of the art of balancing then you are plainly too greedy and need to go learn this fine skill that much of society has learnt.

The balance of reality and our digital lives is one of the most important nowadays.

Yesterday in my bus ride home I sat next to an elderly lady and we watched as 3 high school kiddos took over the disabled seats. At that moment I knew this was already trouble.

Then on came the lady who was clearly in her eighties and the gent who struggled to walk with his Zimmer frame.

Did any of these kiddos stand? Hell no!

They had heads buried in their smart phones playing games or updating their social media. They haven’t learnt the art of balance. (The what you want to do and what you really should do.)

So, the lady next to me god bless her, wacked one of the boys (aged around 17) over the shoulder with her newspaper and asked them to stand.

Do you know what they said?

“We were here first!” Can you believe that!!!

So then the whole bus erupted with “get up or get off you lazy asses”.

I have never seen so many senior citizens stand together and make their points.

I hope those three kiddos learnt something yesterday. The balance of what you want to do and what you should do is very important in life especially when everyone around you practices that.

Heads out of digital and look at the world. It’s the most important place to be.
