When I want to be a child

I had a wee visit from a little man today aged 18 months. It really made my day as aside from that I was stuck inside with rain pounding down outside and maybe going a little stir crazy.

I actually had not real interest in SL today, or much at all this weekend. I decided although I logged on, to escape more into RL.

It made me think back to when I used to hang around the local streets with my skateboard and hang out with my mates and think we were maybe 10 years older than we were. We were innocent rebels back then. Its not so now days unfortunately and the world is so much more different.

I would give anything to turn the clock back to those days. They were simple and carefree and not a care in the world. Hanging on the streets was playing. Pure and simple.

Today I look at a lot of young people I know and it really saddens me to see how many seem to carry the weight of the world on their shoulders and how many worry about things that really, no one should worry about as a teenager.

I actually considered how lucky I am to have had a childhood of not worrying and just playing like children can and should be able to.

As I looked at little Mason today, I realised that as adults we have to do everything in our power to make the world a better place for our children, just like when were kids and teach them the fun of playing on their skateboards and just not worrying.
