I have dry nails today. Meaning it’s not raining. Not yet anyhow.
Yesterday I had to stay home because you may recall I was bleeping on about the rain on Wednesday?
On Wednesday night I arrived home from work. Did my usual routine and went into the kitchen to feed my cats.
I found water all over their food and other things on the counter. I looked up and there it was, wet ceiling patches.
A few months ago I had a similar experience in the heavy rain and they had to have work done in the loft and repair a tile on the roof. Great.
Anyhow they sent out one of the building maintenance hot shots yesterday.
Let’s call him Dell Boy!
If you have ever watched Only Fools and horses you would know who I mean.
Guy near 60, walking with obvious hip replacement needed. Portly chap, breathing heavily, smelling of tobacco and wearing the statutory gold chain around the neck.
I swear he could just about get up his trusty step ladder into my loft. Came back down to tell me he needs to come back when it’s raining to see where the water trickles from and bring his sidekick as he couldn’t fit!
Hmmmm we are due to have high winds and rain tonight. I would rather not have my ceiling cave in and the electrics get wet. But hey who am I to say!
I’ve popped some photos at the end of credits so you can revel in what I see as I open my boiler cupboard as that’s at that part of ceiling. Worrying? Hell yes.
Now dry nails.
