This was me last Friday at the end of my work day. This is me now, wishing tomorrow wasn’t Monday.
Monday lands like a sequel no one approved,
Caffeine’s betrayed me, my groove un-grooved.
I lounge like couture in my nightiesloose embrace,
While emails attack with unspeakable pace.
“Just circling back!” the passive-aggressive war cry,
Each ping a reminder I, too will soon die.
The group chat’s a battlefield, the typos obscene
Yet here I am, smiling… like a marketing meme.
No boss at my door, no heels on my feet,
But this job haunts my fridge and my toilet seat.
If Mondays had souls, I’d stage a coup
But I’ll settle for logging off at half-past two.
