Rough day

As someone who works from home, dressing up can be a game-changer for productivity. There’s something powerful about slipping into a lovely top or smart trousers, even if my commute is just steps from the bedroom to the home office.

But today felt rough. You know those mornings when the alarm rings, and instead of springing up, you feel hesitant as every part of your being doesn’t feel ok? That was my day.

Looking in the mirror, this morning I reminded myself of the positives of looking presentable: it helps keep me motivated, sharpens my focus, and it’s good for the occasional surprise video call.

Yet, despite these reminders, I still felt a bit rough. And that’s okay. Not every day can be perfect. I actually ended up slipping on yesterday’s t shirt and track pants. Did my face routine and tidied my hair.

Sometimes, it’s more about showing up and doing your best, even if your best today is just getting dressed in anything and putting on a semblance of a smile.

Hopefully tomorrow has a different outcome.
