Back then

Back in the day this would be me on a Saturday morning around 7am, after a night out.

Yes clubs were open till around that time in Sydney. We wouldn’t step out the front door till around 10.30 / 11pm and then had already had a few drinks getting ready.

My friends and I were like the hot group who would walk into a club and be all sassy and noticed because we looked so fresh. In our minds that is, but we wore that attitude well.

We would drink and dance all night long. Literally not be hungover because we were smart gals. Every few drinks we drank water. Made sure we stayed hydrated and that way by the morning we had literally done a dance workout. Had breakfast at Wendy’s or the Pancake place whose exact name I don’t remember.

Then we hit the beach. Threw off our clothes and lay on the sand for the morning sleeping on and off. Going for swims then heading home.

These days I’ll be found rolling from my sofa dancing to the bed and found the next day still in bed. The stark reality of aging.

I wouldn’t ever swap my youth for anything. Though I may do less now, I seriously really lived when I was younger.

Today I wish people lived for the moment and not for the dream. Make the most of every second and enjoy it.

  1. There’s nothing wrong with reminiscing and doing the same things we did (to an extent tho) as we were younger. Seriously not even kidding, I enjoy dancing around the house to a good tune when it comes on our surround sound with SIRIUS XM, btw Dave knows I’m a bit ditzy-wacky at times but he loves it and so do I! 😛 Have a dance for me Isa! Hugzz!
