Last night I had a lovely evening with my two good friends Annette and Carol.
We regularly get together and have something to eat and either put the world to rights or gossip about whatever each of us has to share.
We are three women with strong voices and if you were an observer in the corner you would be hard pressed to keep up with us and know what we are talking about.
We are like a busy intersection on one of the worlds busiest roads. We talk non stop from the minute we see each other until the minute we say goodbye again. Talking at great speed to fit it all in, until the next time we see each other.
This is what friends is about. You can go weeks without seeing each other and then when you do, it’s like that fast moving train, transference of information, and then it’s outta here again.
I have a few friends in my life that I look at like that and call them real friends both in reality and virtual life.
We don’t live in each other’s lives every day, but when needed are there for each other to listen and talk to. To hug and be hugged by.
Don’t ever forget those people in your lives. We can have hundreds of acquaintances who are “friends” on our social media’s etc.
But the reality of it, the real true friends are those that we can count on our fingers to be there when we most need them. The ones that listen when we need to talk, don’t judge and just are there to lift you back up.
Thank you to my friends both in reality and in the virtual world who have become friends.

I know exactly what you’re talking about, Isa. The people who will let you vent, or will stop by and check on you, are worth their weight in gold. I’ve lost a few them over the years, either because we drifted apart or because we both changed and no longer had anything in common. Some dropped off the net entirely. But I’ve gained new friends through Second Life, and reconnected with some old ones as our paths crossed again. 🙂

There’s always those that come and go and yet there are the ones who touch base when you need it and live life on parallel.
I have one I’ve known 28 years since I came to the uk. She and I don’t see each other every day or week but we touch base around once a month and have a meal. If either of us need an ear we know each will listen and hug. I’ve seen her through some awful times and she me. I have my other friend who lives in France now ( she met her husband in SL!)
And my two from the other night.
They’re the main ones in my life I appreciate so much all of them.
