Well what a day this was!
Seriously you couldn’t have made it up if you tried.
So as you know I am now working from home. Its a bit of an authenticator process to log into everything due to the security surrounding information. As with most work places. Anyhow our organisation uses google authenticator to gain the code which goes with our own security password code to log in. To get the code when you are logging in you have to open google authenticator on your mobile device and it generates a log in code.
So here lies the issue. What happens when your damn phone decides to switch off and not come back on again?
Yep that was me this morning having a major panic, not only for not being able to log on to work, but actually not being able to contact people as like most of the world, all phone numbers are on the phone. So work ICT sorted out and alternative route using what is called a fob device which sent a code to manager at work and I was able to use that.
Now lets have a little laugh. I tried everything to get my phone working. All the recommended push the volume up and volume down and side button to no avail.
Lunchtime I went to good old YouTube and there it was my answer. Doing the same thing again but in a different way and using iTunes. Finally back in action.
Moral of story is, beware of technology, it controls you.
