I woke up a little while ago and was about to leap up in a panic, jump in the shower and dash out of my front door.

Then I realised it’s Sunday and I actually haven’t got work today.

Work has become so all consuming that it’s stealing my weekends because it’s in my thoughts.

Anyone else have this?

So I’m laying here thinking that the balance in work and home life is tipping the wrong way at the moment.

I’ve touched on this before in previous blogs about how much of our lives we spend doing that activity called working.

It seems way too much. So I’m calling for a new work life balance. 3.5 days per week work and 3.5 days per week home life.

That balances don’t you think?

  1. We all work far too many hours. But unless the wages rise per hour to compensate or the Government steps in and give us all an extra stipend (OMG dream on, Moz) it ain’t going to happen. I know quite a few friends who are now forced to work over the retirement age because they can’t afford to give up work. These are ordinary workers who don’t have great company pensions… just the UK pension which is so low as to be bloody pathetic. We have hemmed ourselves well and truly in by the wheels of industry and now we’re all exhausted with the whole business. William Blake was darn right about those dark, satanic mills.

    1. Yep. I work often into my evenings with union works because work is so full in. Mind you I multitask quite a lot which is handy but it’s seriously damaging to our healths
I’ll be working till I’m dead. Or likely working while I’m dead because I have no idea how to stop. Hence over weekend I m panicking to get ready for work when I needn’t. Modern life is certainly not all it’s cracked up to be given the so called knowledge acquired over time.
I call for a life balance strike!!
