This morning my son walked out the door and said to me, “I’ll be home at 6 so can you have dinner ready as I’m going out early?”
Now many would say how harsh I must be as a mum to have said to him “seriously, you have hands, use them”. But when you know my son is going to be 27 next week then you will understand my exasperation .
I remember leaving home at 18 and fending for myself all those years ago. Today however its so hard for young people to get that first mortgage and even that first rent payment going. But seriously, since when cant they cook their own dinner? ha ha
I enlightened him on his skill set this morning and he agreed that perhaps he was being a little expectational (my new word I made up ) and taking the micky!
So now, he not only has to cook his own dinner this evening, he will be cooking mine!
