The best day of my Second Life

The best day of my Second Life

I’m not going to lie, in fact I want to scream it to the world how thrilled I was to do a Lab Gab with Strawberry.

It’s been a weird and tough week in reality given that all that we are consumed with is the current pandemic affecting our world and what that brings.

I’ll admit, I’ve been struggling with reality and of course worrying about friends and family. You can’t help but get caught up in these feelings.

Today was a great highlight and made my year.

Even more lovely was that my friends all logged in to watch and that meant a lot to have them spur me on and support.

There’s something so wonderful in our virtual worlds and I’m glad we have them right now.

I could have worn this dress today but I decided to go la casual because I knew I was going to drag strawberry to Motorheadz to bike ride.

It clearly wouldn’t have been ladylike .

A world without limits

A world without limits

When it comes to Sansar and Second Life, I have a passion for both.

Both platforms have very different reasons why I love them and advocate experiencing them.

When I first went into Sansar it was during the pre public release.

I was in there familiarising myself and learning how to navigate myself around it and admiring the whole graphical experience. That was back when there were just a few experiences most by Sansar and creators had just started creating places to visit.

Move along a few years later I have seen so many changes in there and the creator experiences become more interactive and fun.

The problem was that people expected to land in Sansar and have a Second Life experience.

Sansar was never meant to be a Second Life experience. That was the first mistake people made when they logged to check it out. What they “expected”, were pretty avatars and a Second Life society.

Then they started to complain and blame Sansar for their user experience in Second Life.

Yet never really appreciating the vastly new things that Linden Lab we’re bringing into Second Life. Mesh, Bakes on Mesh, Animesh and better Linden homes etc.

So the thoughts conveyed by negative nellies was always they felt they were being “done over” in replacement for Sansar. That they would lose their hard worker lives in Second Life and the investments they had made.

The reality is, look at the past few years and the amazing things that Second Life has acquired!!

Now back to Sansar.

I love Sansar and am glad that Ebbe Altberg is not ditching it but seeking for it to continue and let some other investor take it forward. I’m not leaving Sansar and neither are many other Sansarians users who understand its potentials.

The technology behind Sansar is amazing. The potential for it even more amazing.

It has the graphics of a cgi game yet you are living inside it real time.

My computer loves it. My computer is 5 years old.

Now check this video below and tell me, this isn’t amazing or realistic.

I’m glad there is a world created like this. That’s asexual and able to provide meeting places for huge events virtually.

That young people under 18 can visit and explore their own creator experiences and not feel they can’t participate due to adult constraints.

The potential here is there.

Our Harriet has dressed up for the occasion to report and popped along to Designer Showcase to pick up her frock and crown.

After all an invite to report on this event is such an honour she had to wear the Crown Jewels.

Announcing Official SL Blogger Network

Announcing Official SL Blogger Network

Good morning and good evening wherever you may be. I think I’ve got a cold.

But that’s not what this blog post is about at all.

Yesterday I did a vlog on YouTube about the new shiny Official Second Life Blogger Network Launch. (SLBN). It was spoken about by Strawberry Linden and Xiola Linden at the Wednesday Lab Gab streamed live with guest Kess Crystal.

Basically both Vloggers and Bloggers are getting the opportunity to be showcased on the Second Life blog and an opportunity to share your work via Second Life.

Now I consider that a really positive community step for all involved. A way to get your work showcased and to gain a wider reach.

Can you apply? Well of course you can.

Simply click Here and read. You will find the submission form to apply, the Terms and conditions and Content guidelines. Make sure you read those before you apply so you understand what content can’t be included etc.

Once you have completed the submission form, you then go back to the Content Guidelines page and scroll down till you find the two images of the SLBN badge, right click and save to your computer. There is also a link under the badge that you need to save with the badge to your blog. The link in case you miss it is This.

Depending on your blog you then add the badge. If you are on WordPress and don’t know how to do this, shout out to me and I’ll try and help you. Failing that tomorrow’s blog I’ll explain how. You got it I’ll attempt a video!

Remember, read all the guidelines so you understand content that is not permissible and happy blogging and vlogging!

Second life turns 16 Lets Celebrate

Second life turns 16 Lets Celebrate

Can you believe it, Second Life is turning 16!!! With a 1950’s retro theme. So get those retro outfits on.

I  remember when I first discovered this crazy land, back in 2003 when I saw something about it on the internet and thought I would have a look at it.

Back then, the olden days of virtual chatting it was very new and so different from all the chat clients that were around at the time. Messenger, Yahoo, ICQ to name a few.

Even back then I loved to find out who you could talk to around the world.

I made many friends from far off places and to this day I am still in good contact with people as far back as 1999.

But Second Life was something totally different and back then, even though my computer and dial up connection couldn’t handle it very well, I knew this was something very unique and I wanted to be a part of. Moving forward to 2007 my organisation advertised to us to join as they had a sim in there a brief period. I joined but struggled again as I had moved to another dial up connection.

Come 2010, I was there and haven’t looked back. Have never regretted and made absolutely some of the most wonderful friends I have come to know both inworld and out of the world.

So now we celebrate. I am not going to credit outfits etc in todays blog because I can save that for tomorrow.

Below in the credits you will find all the information you need to jump around to where you want to go.

HAVE FUN, DONT DRINK TOO MUCH, AND JUST REMEMBER, THERE ARE TAXIS SO SAVE YOUR FEET!

Right now lets party!! Video and all links below. The dance sequence was shot at the Time Portal

Strawberry Singh

Strawberry Singh

Strawberry Singh!!!

Have you heard the news?

Absolutely brilliant news as Strawberry is now an employee for Linden Lab. Marketing content specialist no less.

I said a while back in a video championing her they would do no better than to have that lovely lady on their team.

If anyone has given a positive front to this virtual world it is her.

There are so many bloggers and vloggers for Second Life but for me the only real one has only really been Strawberry.

No matter what she has always represented the community in a positive, authentic and encouraging way.

That is what a real ambassador does. So for Linden Lab to have taken her into their fold, says it all.

She is inspiring and such a decent kind person that truly deserves this after all her hard work and positivity she has brought into the community.

My jolly huge CONGRATULATIONS to Strawberry dare I say Singh-Linden?

You will be missed in your usual role, but I am sure bringing to the Linden team your great people skills.

Who lives in a house like this?

I have nothing to say this morning. I’m on a bus soaking wet after being bombarded with sleet and rain.

You can revel in Suzie Anderson’s gorgeous home in the video below as I wear this rather cute outfit. Lucky pixels don’t feel cold!

Underneath is her link to my home.

As for a Drax, Ebbe and Strawberry. They were willing participants in the photo. No really they were.

Just the dance

Just the dance

I dreamt I was dancing and then I woke up.

Last night was a pretty full on experience for me as I went Atlas hopping in Sansar and whilst doing so my internet crashed a few times. But none the less I thoroughly enjoyed it and met some fun people along the way.

Seems there is an issue locally with my internet and although unlike Friday where I lost complete access, it’s currently intermittent.

But I still managed streaming and a video.

I’ve popped one of the streams ( ended up with two because of crashing) under the dance video.
