It’s absolutely freezing. The kind of cold where you think, it may as well just snow and get it over with.
But no. Instead it’s raining. Proper raining. Cats, dogs, maybe a small donkey. The sort of rain that ignores umbrellas and finds its way down your neck anyway.
Everything feels damp. Not soaking. Just… permanently moist. I love that word…..moist.
Snow would at least make sense. Snow feels seasonal. Snow lets you romanticise things for about ten minutes. Rain just makes your shoes soggy and your mood worse.
So you make another cup of tea. You complain about the weather like it’s your job. And you accept that this is it.
