In true English fashion, the much-anticipated bank holiday weekend arrived not with the warm embrace of sunshine and sizzling BBQs, but with a familiar grey sky and the occasional spit of rain.
Hopes for picnics in the park and sunbathing on the beach were quietly swapped for indoor hanging and dare I say it the heating being turned on.
The weather, cool and temperamental, seemed to laugh at our optimism, drizzling just enough to make outdoor plans awkward, but not enough to warrant a proper storm.
Still, there’s a certain charm to it. The bank holiday may not have delivered the summer vibes we craved, but it brought a cozy kind of togetherness, a reason to slow down, and just maybe, a cuppa or two more than usual.
Very British, indeed.
