I am lounging on my sofa after the day. Happy Monday.
I was at the doctors this morning having blood tests as the injection I have for my diabetes has suddenly become hard to get hold of. Seems it’s being sold and promoted by annoying tiktokers and celebs as the current weight loss fad. It seems to have replaced Bariatric surgery, which to be honest don’t get me started.
For those of us that need this medication, it’s now a bit of an issue and Gp surgeries are having to check levels and see what the alternative is.
For me the injection of Ozempic had a real noticed affect on my sugar levels. Very big affect. Bear in mind I already take a cocktail of meds for diabetes too.
When I had my first Covid injection one of the major side effects was a huge rise in my levels which made me unwell a number of weeks. It came down but it didn’t return to where it was originally. No matter what I did.
When this was prescribed it literally shot down within days. It has been level since. A godsend.
Last weekend was my last shot as they can’t get any in stock. No idea what will happen or not moving forward but we shall see.
Why are we short? Because money and peoples vanity!!! It’s all about the money, the sales of Ozempic as a weight loss drug has seriously created a shortage and unless you want to go on the internet and buy it from touters it’s now difficult to get hold of.
Am I pissed? Yes!!! I have a right to be when vanity overrides the health of others. The problem with society these days is the “quick fix”.
Everyone wants a quick fix with little effort. It’s not teaching our next generations anything other than what a lazy era this was.
Anyhow this is the current situation and on behalf of myself and other diabetics who have real reasons and issues with controlling it, shame on all the vanity injectors!
I don’t drink wine but right now I could do with a glass just to steady my rising anger at how selfish people are out there.
Now the deets for this picture.
