Apparently it’s that time again. Don’t worry I’m not about to ramble about the semantics of football. I am the last person on the planet that would.
I have always had issue with the fact that chasing around a ball is paid way better than our nurses, cleaners, dust men etc. You know the people who do the things that a lot of us would rather not? The jobs that actually matter.
Then of course all our daughters have that one aspiration, to be a footballers wife or a pop star.
Last week in my course we were talking about our kids generations and what they get up to. The above applied in literally all cases of parents in that room bar one whose son is heading toward medicine.
No words can be uttered other than, wow.
If everyone became footballers, footballer wives and pop stars, our world will become pretty messed up.
The only thing I enjoy about the World Cup is the pride each nation finds and the fact that it’s ok to drink and maybe eat nachos while shouting at the tv.
I watch only as they run into the pitch then I turn over and watch a good old soap opera.
That’s how I roll.
