I had big plans for Saturday.
Nothing wild. Just peace. Maybe a tidy up. A cup of tea that stayed warm. Paint my nails. Make a few TikTok’s.
Instead, I woke up with more back ache. The kind where you stand up slowly and know it’s staying.
Tried to ignore it. Had a stretch. Made a coffee. Moved like I was 87.
Then, mid-morning, whilst making a TikTok video for refreshers. I demonstrated chewing one and felt something odd in my mouth. A little crunch. My filling came out.
Yes. My filling came out. The one I’ve had over 40 years in my mouth.
On a Saturday. Of course it did.
So now I’m spending my relaxing weekend protecting one side of my mouth like it’s made of glass, while my back complains every time I move from chair to kettle.
There’s something very humbling about adult life. It’s not parties or fun weekends. It’s Googling “temporary tooth repair” while lying on a heat pad. Ordering it from Amazon and waiting.
Anyway. That was my glamorous Saturday.
