I’ve been unwell since Boxing Day, which is apparently long enough for everyone to assume I’m fine now. I’m not.
Returned to work today anyway. Was I well? No. Was I upright and vaguely conscious? Yes.
I answered emails, stared at screens, and quietly wondered why I didn’t have a soft toy for emotional support. Not to fix anything. Just something soft to hold while pretending I was functioning.
