The Autumn tide

The past few days have been nothing short of an oven, sticky, sweltering, and downright relentless.

It’s that kind of heat where even the shadows seem to sweat, and walking out the front door feels like stepping into a hairdryer. Only there’s nothing drying.

I’ve melted into every surface I’ve sat on and seriously considered sleeping in a bath of ice cubes.

But amidst the humidity and the slow roast of afternoons, there’s one place my mind keeps drifting, to the the sea.

There’s something about the seaside that promises relief.

I picture myself there, not in summer’s blaze, but in the hushed grey of late autumn. The kind of autumn where the air carries that first crisp bite, where jumpers return like old friends, and the leaves begin their quiet rebellion.

I imagine sitting on a rock while the sea murmurs secrets only cooler weather can unlock. No stickiness, no sunburnt shoulders, just tranquility and the scent of salt and change.

It’s the season that breathes space back into the world. And right now, I’d give anything for its gentle whisper.

Oh and if you’re asking or wondering it’s only been 29-30 Celsius . My flat feels like 40!
