I’m just sitting here hanging around. Watching and waiting for the breeze to shoot by.
Then I can say I’ve been “shooting the breeze.”
I’ve always wondered at that saying. Like the only way I can imagine shooting the breeze would be talking and spitting at the same time.
You know the way old uncle Tom used to do when he told you something?
Yep my uncle would spit while he spoke. Honestly as a kid I dreaded him visiting as frankly I didn’t want to sample his recent brekky or drink!
God bless him, he is dead as a Dodo now and I’ve never encountered anyone talk spitting since.
