Contemplating

It’s Friday and I have never looked forward to the end of the week as much as I have this week. Well, to be honest last week as well.

I’ve been contemplating changes and I had a radical proposition that appeared to me this week which will if I get accepted be phenomenal, challenging and a bloody awesome experience.

It’s to be part of a Congregation of delegates to go to Palestine, visiting the Occupied West Bank, East Jerusalem and parts of Israel.

The delegations will usually be based in East Jerusalem and the visit includes meetings with a range of organisations based in the West Bank and Israel, and fact-finding day-trips to areas including Hebron, Jericho, Ramallah and Jaffa/Tel-Aviv etc. The focus of the delegation will be on the impact of the Israeli occupation and apartheid system Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and the way Israel’s policies are affecting Palestinian citizens of Israel.

The meetings will include a range of organisations working to defend workers rights, including Palestinian Trade Unions and Kav LaOved, as well as some key campaigning organisations like the Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC), and the Civic Coalition for Jerusalem.

This opportunity is to be honest something that I feel truly excited about and I hope I am chosen to attend.

So if you have followed me for a while you will know that I’m a unionist and very passionate about people and fair treatment etc. this is I know not a completely guaranteed 100% safe idea, but if I can do this then I know all the other thoughts in my brain are possible before I exit this planet.

It’s never too late to do new things and to challenge ourselves. So I will find out if I’m successful in April at any rate. I’ll let you know either way.

Hence here I am in this picture. Appearing dreamy and relaxed, yet inside my heart is skipping beats thinking what if I get it!!!!
