I usually do lots of things each year towards Halloweeen even though in reality I really don’t like it. This year you may only see very minimal from me in terms of Halloween content. More spooky less slasher for sure.
I guess I’m being really sensitised to reality lately and some of the gruesome things happening to people out in the world.
I can’t separate the two as after starting to watch Dahmer on Netflix, it’s seriously given me a reality slap.
There’s too much going on that it’s making me feel I can’t really do it. I feel pretty disturbed which is something I’ve never felt before.
We often set up scenes of blood and gore and take photos or make videos celebrating these scenes.
But out there in the real world, these are not pretend, they’re very real. I’m slowly becoming more and more sensitised and feeling that it’s getting harder and harder to ignore my inner feelings on the subject.
Is this old age? I really don’t know. All I know is I’m being careful with the content. There’s always someone out there in the wide world that is suffering what we think as “fun” or imaginary.
However give me thrills and spooky, that I can do.
