Anyone who bothers to know me as a person knows that on a daily basis I fight with obstacles that throw themselves like a bus in front of me. Some days my “fight” feels so encompassing that I really could give up.
I’m tired of fake views, fake likes, fake news.
I’m tired of fake friends, fake smiles, fake fake fake.
In today’s society where everyone is defined by their social media’s there is a generation of people rising that no longer see what’s around them, no longer enjoy what’s around them. It’s only what is found at your finger tips that is becoming important. The affirmation that you seek via social media the likes, the comments etc.
The comments that reinforce your belief that as a person you are acceptable, you are liked. You are important.
Stop, have a conversation. Get to know someone. Jack who lives 1000 miles away may “like” your status or your photo. But “Jack” is not any more significant if you compare “Jack” to “Doris” you sister, your friend, your aunt, your cousin. Affirmation begins at home, so make sure that you look at those children and those close to you and make them feel that they are special, important and worthwhile.
Be the child again and remember what’s really important.
