Under the waterfall

Under the waterfall

As I stand here by the falls . My tears fall silently upon my heart but cannot be seen.

I’m going to be brutally honest here.

I cry inside with the pain of a mother’s heart that is separated from her children.

I have not seen my son nearly 3 months now and my daughter fleetingly a few weeks ago with my grandson outside on the pavement.

I was excited in many ways that I’d be able to have either of my children come here and come inside and hug from this weekend. Spend some real time together.

But you see that’s not going to happen.

Because I share my home with someone who hasn’t exactly followed the social distancing rules and in turn that means I can’t take the risk. Actually flouted a few times those rules. Don’t get me started on how. The government in its wisdom didn’t consider people like me. So on it goes.

The risk for my kids who won’t now be able to come here and that makes me sad inside. I’m at risk daily and I can accept that. But I can’t accept that my children are so close but feel so far away.

Technology is ok, it has its uses and ya da ya da ya da. Ultimately I’ve learnt that the most important thing for me is to stand in the same room with my family. Nothing else is important. Everything else feels superfluous and meaningless.

So I’m sad inside but also very angry. Angry that people are so selfish and self important and don’t think of others.

I’m angry that the world is right now behaving like a cesspool of hate and people have lost their minds. I’m angry that while I stand here feeling this, the world is behaving like it always has.

People kid themselves with all their self gratuitous statements and trying to be noticed and relevant.

The protests and the violence at a time we are meant to be united disgusts me. The hatred spread through Facebook and other social media’s like a silent virus, branching out and grabbing people along its way.

People victimising and bullying and accusing.

What has the world become? Unity lasted how long? We united because of a disease and then suddenly one police officer changed the world.

The people who have used that moment to gain social media fame and presence disgust me.

The irrelevant models, actors and businesses who exploit it to become someone in a world in turmoil. To behave like parasites using the time to be on stage and feel relevant.

The criminals who loot and commit violence. The people who choose to protest but social distancing becomes irrelevant. No cause is worth that right now. We are supposed to be overcoming something.

I’m tired and worn.

So, as I stand here under the waterfall and my tears fall inside my heart, I know that no one has learnt anything at all.

Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela are the true speakers. They both believed in peaceful protest and the power of what that could convey.

Everyone else? Missed the message.

No matter what way you want to mix it up or kid yourself. No one really knows what they are doing.

That beautiful image this weekend of a BLM protestors who go in and help a racist. That’s human!! Here’s the story Here

My pretty little thing

My pretty little thing

I’ll be honest, brutally honest. I don’t look like this right now. No seriously I don’t.

The reality of today is my hair is wet like this but I’m not wearing a swimsuit or looking as “together”. I just washed my hair. My cats are either side of me and I’m still not quite awake.

To be honest, if you hadn’t guessed I’m not an avatar, I am real. I have many flaws and don’t ever wake up looking like I’ve had my face frozen into perfection.

Don’t get me wrong Ive wished for it many mornings, but I accept reality as being as it is.

I also embrace how individual we all are in reality and have our own individual looks and blemishes etc. Life would be incredibly lack lustre if it was perfect. Plus it’s fun in life seeking our perceptions of what our perfections would be. Mine are not what people may think.

Racing around in our virtual worlds we can create versions of our perfections. It’s hard to pin point which mine is. Most people presume it’s Isabelle Cheren the avatar.

But it’s not. I am many avatars in Second Life and my favourite person to be is actually VaGina. Because she couldn’t be more real if she tried. She represents non perfection and reality more than any other of my avatars I become. VaGina is coarse, says it how she sees and feels it and loves and embraces her body as it is. That’s my idea of perfection, to be happy in the shell we live in.

Have a good Saturday everyone. It’s my housemates 30th birthday today so I’m making a little fuss for her so she doesn’t feel down in the COVID19 lockdown thing we are in.

Ok

It’s clear the sun wasn’t going to stay long. It’s always been a bit of a tease here in the U.K.

But seriously couldn’t it last till the weekend at least? So I can look like this on this beautiful swing chair?

On another note. Hands up, how many of you take your mobile phones to the toilet and text?

Go on, how many?

Well I admit I do. Many a great thought happens sitting on the pan. I am sure some great inventions have been considered in said position.

In fact this blog post is happening.

My housemate takes it to the next level. Laptop to the loo.

I hear her chuckling away often watching YouTube videos while residing in the porcelain throne. Seriously the laptop.

What habits do you have when you visit your porcelain throne?

Glorious day stay safe

Glorious day stay safe

Today is such a gorgeous day in reality. I wonder how many people will be out and about in the sunshine forgetting that there are social distancing rules?

Let’s face it, all around us are people ignoring it and just carrying on as usual, some more discreetly than others.

My thoughts on this are twofold. I understand both sides of the coin.

What would I do?

Well I’m working so that’s all sorted.

What did I do over the same glorious weekend?

Stayed home and followed the rules.

Despite my moment to find life the other day, I have followed the rules. At the end of the day, the unknown is something we deal with each time we make contact with someone. We can’t see it so won’t know if we pass it.

Be careful and follow the rules as best you can.

Just because you can’t see it or you haven’t been personally affected, doesn’t mean you stop being careful. For sunshine and a tan?

Find your garden, it’s not forever. It’s just a moment in time.

She ate the plastic

She ate the plastic

I woke up a little while ago to cat puke all over my bedding.

I too was covered in it. How did I sleep through that? Seriously how?

I know which one was the culprit without even having to check. It was her!!!

How? I found plastic in the stuff.

Honestly my female cat since she was a kitten has always had this pica for plastic. Tippi loves a bit of plastic to chew on. Usually she will gnaw one one of the plastic toys but it seems somehow she found a piece of bag plastic during the night and as always vomited it up.

Her plastic habit has for 6 years been a worry and I’ve always made sure that there are no bits of plastic laying around.

It seems she located the flatmates bag in the hallway and found a bit peeking out.

Now I’m laying on a bed with a new sheet on and washing going around in the machine ready to fall back to sleep.

The little cherub lays next to me purring in contentment.

Goodnight again 💤

Visiting Kolmannskuppe

Visiting Kolmannskuppe

Kolmannskuppe a place you need to visit in Second Life.

An amazing job has been done on this sim to replicate the real ghost town of Kolmannskuppe.

A place I highly recommend you go visit and just take in the ambiance.

I’m not going to say too much in this blog as the video below will speak for itself.

Do visit and let me know what you think.

All dressed up and nowhere to go

All dressed up and nowhere to go

A few weeks ago in my reality there was a clothing sale on in one of the stores I like to shop at. I had an online shop moment and bought myself some new tops.

Last night I sat here wondering why on Earth I needed those new tops and when I’ll get the opportunity to even wear them. The real answer is, no one knows. None the less I still bought them. I don’t even know why.

One part of me sees a sale and thinks yeah go for it. The other part logically says hold back because any spare money right now really needs to be saved.

The world right now is an odd place and we really don’t know what we are going to face economically in the months, maybe years ahead. So I guess the question we need to ask ourselves is really do we need it? What’s the sacrifice we make for that outfit?

I don’t know the answers but what I do understand is that economically we must keep some normal going. But realistically we must also make sure we save what we have in case of any recession coming.

The easiest way we do this, is live our reality in readiness, but in our virtual know we can escape to normality. I never thought I’d ever say this.

Well, that’s how I’m doing it.

How are you living yours?

How does your garden Grow

How does your garden Grow

How does your garden grow? Well I am guessing at the moment rather well given many people are at home and finding things to do.

How are your bushes?

I personally live in an apartment with a lake view and a balcony so mine is rather spiffing.

My garden is preferably inside and my apartment has a jungle feel with 3 trees in the living room. I have always had a thing about inside plants wherever I have lived. On a big scale I might add.

They help to make me feel calm and more in a peaceful mindset.

But if I had a garden I would consider this idea just as it appears in the picture.

Of course the reality of would look way better than my attempts at décor pictures.

Even in world it looked way better than my picture attempt. Still in Beverley’s video below you do actually get to see the lovely MLaw hanging chair and Raindales Gachas and can appreciate it a little more.

The Getaway

The Getaway

I chuckle to myself as I sit here tapping this blog into my phone.

Why I hear you echo?

I’m now on holiday from work till the 14 April and it just made me chuckle because I’m going absolutely nowhere!!’ Nowhere!

My trip will be from bed to work desk and as of tomorrow it will be from bed to sofa! Living the dream, the current Covid19 one.

I didn’t have many plans when I first booked the time off. Only I had planned some days hanging out with my daughter and her son. Day trips that kind of thing.

Sadly due to Lockdown that is not possible.

I’m right now missing my son and daughter a great deal. Doing the brave I’m ok and I’m fine face but inside my heart struggles with the knowing I have no idea when I can next hug them.

It’s such an uncertain time and I’m wondering how long this may go on for.

We are in the early stages and already it feels suffocating the restriction to life as we know it.

But, we can find ways to explore the world in the confines of our isolation. Today I’m taking you to a place called The Getaway.
