I’m eyeing the garden with that familiar late August itch time to prune, de-weed the pots, and coax everything toward its autumnal slumber.
Technically, summer’s still lingering, clinging to the air. But emotionally? I’ve already moved on. I’m done with the sweaty afternoons and the clingy heat.
Give me frostbitten mornings and breath that lingers in the air. Give me icicles on my windows.
Still, the plants on my balcony are in full bloom, and for now, I’ll let it have its moment. One last hurrah before the great seasonal exhale. Can’t wait!!!
