Here I am in reality chained to my desk like a hunched over goblin, working all day while secretly dreaming of being that boss.
I too want to make dramatic entrances, with overpriced lattes in hand, sunglasses indoors just because I can. Long lunches and work “catch ups”.
Meanwhile, I’m over here headset stuck to my head awaiting calls, answering emails and whatever “urgent” nonsense passes my way.
In my virtual head, I’m already a manager.
Swivelling on my chair. Tossing out vague orders like “circle back” and “synergise” while secretly having no idea what they mean. Taking credit for everyone else’s genius because, hello, that’s the true boss lifestyle.
But no. Reality insists I’m the worker bee, never the queen bee.
