So you may wonder what this Coffee with Isa is about? Freebooting?
I do my best to explain in the following video and its basically to let all my fellow content creators who make video for YouTube and photos for Flickr aware of what it means.
A few weeks ago I discussed something in a Friday rant video which left a few people perplexed and who asked me what the big deal was. Well Freebooting is the unauthorized duplication of digital content and the presentation of that content as original work.
Online content includes articles, images, blog posts, music files and videos. Many people mistakenly believe that online content may be freely copied and reused, or that it may be reused unless the owner includes a note about copyright protection. In fact, all original content is protected under copyright law and may not be duplicated unless the owner has explicitly granted reuse rights, and any duplication beyond what is deemed to be fair use is illegal. **statement taken from techtarget**
So when you happily spend all your time and money creating content you load onto YouTube with the hopes that people watch and appreciate, you dont do so with the thought that actually someone appreciated it so much, they decided to nick it and then put their own brand mark over it and upload it as their own.
This is in fact a huge issue and really needs to be addressed and people to start branding the hell out of their content. You see the minute someone cuts out your watermark or they place a watermark over your watermark, it shows clear intent.

Suffice to say my advice is in the video too, which is watermark your content, and if you have a Facebook page, upload it into Facebook at the same time as you upload it into YouTube. (schedule its release or keep unlisted for a short while) thereby you are protecting your rights to that content in Facebook as well. Dont forget Instagram as it is also rife on there.
