A bloggers Challenge

I start this blog by saying Thank You to Ava from Ava’s Chronicles for considering me in this challenge.

There are some lovely people in Second Life and despite my never having time to spend I always value those people such as Ava that I have met in my travels and blogs.

I’m participating in the Got Blog!Bloggers challenge, you can find more info here

Got Blog - Bloggers Challenge
  • When did you start your Second Life Blog?In 2015
  • Why did you start Blogging in Second Life? It was cathartic to me as at the time I was experiencing a great deal of emotional angst at the time.
  • Do you feel the Blogging community in Second Life has changed since you started Blogging, and if so, in what ways? Yes I feel it has changed a lot and perceptions of what a blog is actually seems to have done as well. I will always truly believe that words are an important part of a blog, not just a picture.
  • Do you think that Bloggers have a positive impact on Second Life culture and community, and if so, do you have any stories about that? I think they have less impact than they did as there are so many now, that trying to keep up is a full time job for me so I miss a lot these days.
  • Are you approachable as a Blogger by content creators that may have interest in you as a Blogger for their Brand/Store?
    – if you have review policies etc. feel free to include them.
Yes I am, however as I’m quite a prolific mostly daily blogger juggling a lot in reality the constraints of time often can affect my answer. I have always focused on smaller brands as well and I have a great sense of loyalty to the people who gave me a chance at the beginning, . I still blog for them today.
  • Do you have any tips or tricks that help you with the Blogging process that you would like to share? Always prepare drafts of your basic body and style so is easier to add outfit etc, it makes the blogging process so much faster and smoother. I also will often prepare around 5 – 6 blogs in advance which sit in my drafts awaiting publication. It’s always useful if time is a worry during the month. I also will blog what I received even after the event is over as frankly it goes to the store then.
  • Have you yourself ever benefited from another Blogger’s post, such as learning a new skill for Blogging, or Second Life functions that you may not have known about?
Yes I have with Strawberry Singh and Mericat Ireland. They were both my inspirations. Sadly neither are running their blogs now and I can’t link to them. Ava from Ava’s Chronicle’s has often spurred me on as well.
  • I challenge Kess Crystal with the Glamour Sauce and Wynn on her Blog to join in this challenge too. I also challenge Thar she blows. They may not have the time, but go on DO IT
  • What kind of Blogs appeal to you as a reader, and what would you like to see more of in the Second Life Blogging world? I love a blog with humour and information. Not necessarily Second life related but engaging. I feel not enough bloggers consider that writing is a great ticket in engaging non second life people as well.
  • Do you Blog content that you yourself would wear/use always, or do you blog content that is expected of you to blog due to commitments to stores/events? I blog content that I may wear but to be honest chances are impossible as I’m blogging on a very much daily basis I rarely get an opportunity to re wear items. I won’t blog anything I find awful.
  • Do you feel that imposed time limits, and a set amount of content featured changes the way you blog content, and does it feel less authentically you? I understand time limits etc as they’re integral to how marketing works. I’m known to say something if I feel it’s daft. I’ve left events and brands because of criteria that they try setting which imposes in my own creative. So I’m pretty much authentic in that respect
  • Do you use Social Media, and/or other platforms outside of your Blog/Website to promote the content you have shared?
    – please list your links so that others can perhaps follow you in other locations.
I have a list. Easiest way to find my links are via here
  • Do you pay for any aspect of your blogging other than the clothing or items in your images, such as Website Hosting, Photoshop etc?
I pay for my site with WordPress. The domain name, epidemic sound for music for videos, Filmora my video editing software, backdrops I buy via weekend sales mostly. Hair, often accessories etc to complete the picture. I own Corel photo editing but only use it to add contrast at most. Blogging can be a money drain I won’t lie.
  • Do you think that Stores/Content Creators should have a Website/Blog for their Brand?
    No.
  • Do you have any suggestions for Content Creators/Stores to consider, when it comes to their Bloggers, and Bloggers that they may want to have Blog for them? They need to consider that some smaller people can become their best bloggers and so it’s nice to see these people given opportunities. Buying their items should not be a prerequisite at all.
  • Do you have any advice that you can give other Bloggers that may be new to the experience, or even advice/wisdom that you want to share with the Blogging community as a whole, new or old? Be yourself and remember the blog is your creative. You want to do it? Then just do it. Start without “sponsors” and be that authentic person you are.
  • Do you have suggestions for which Blogging Platform to use, and why you chose it over others?
    – WordPress, Blogspot, Wix, Tumblr, etc.
I believe if you are not a words blogger, don’t waste your money on a site which charges. I love WordPress as I have so much history on there. So I pay for it. But you can use free parts of sites for sure. Experiment as to which suits you best.
  • What do you enjoy and are most passionate about when it comes to Blogging? Being myself and doing it my way. What I write is authentic and from the heart, never what I think someone would want you to hear. It’s my diary. If I walked away from Second Life tomorrow. I would still continue blogging.
