What a night

You know I’m going to do it again. Whine about how hot it was last night.

I love the heat but England is so not geared to hot weather and neither are its houses. 

Unless of course you are so financially privileged you can afford the big sash windows, AC and the pool in the back garden. And then of course that requires a decent back garden and the costs involved with water, filtration etc etc.

Instead what you have are homes packed closely together, windows maybe a dog may fit through and the average idea of AC is an Argos fan which blows the hot air around just to irritate you to the max.

Well that was me last night. 1am I felt like a chicken that just needed basting and I’d be ready to serve. My bedroom was just like an oven so I landed myself in the living room on my sofa, fan on full blast buck naked.

Seriously I got at least half hour that was sheer bliss. Then the realisation with the fan blowing at that speed I was never going to fall asleep. The noise was driving me insane. 

So, I decided just don’t sleep. 

So, I’m on the bus right now and I have been up basically all night . I managed an hour around 2 am but then woke again. So not sure this day will be very productive at all. In fact that’s probably guaranteed.

I’m guessing I’m not alone in this dilemma.

So yes I love hot weather, love it!

But not in England. There is no beach minutes from my door and there is no upper temperature working limit either. So for all those poor people working in conditions far worse because of machinery in factories. My hat goes off to you for your ability to persevere in those terrible conditions.
