I was disappointed to hear that in regard to my reality some real life work colleagues have been cultivating opinions on SL and what I do within it.
Basically I’m clearly weird and have some kind of sex kink?
Seriously how do you equate making virtual YouTube videos and blogging etc as having a sex kink?
I’d understand if I was running around virtually naked with a collar around my neck on all fours chewing a bone then that would be some weird stuff to sit and salaciously gossip about. But making videos and acting in them?
I despair some days at the mindset people have. Because I choose not to be out every weekend drinking I don’t know. That must make me weird? Nah that just makes me someone who has a hobby.
How did I find out? I’ve always suspected it and when I started working from home I basically guessed new people are being given a “version” of me. Well one person has finally told me.
So I thank that person for confirming the stupid and at least I can be more selective in who I trust with my hobby.
I mean really the fact their boyfriends sit at home gaming on PlayStations drinking beer may be considered more a waste of time to me. I’m older than them. Lived a far more diverse life than they could have dreamed of. Had children who have grown into amazing adults and seen more of the world than they have.
I’d say I’m pretty fully entitled to do as I please with my spare time and if they don’t “get it”, then simply ask.
Do any of you have such judgements cast on you for your interests?

My workplace is very conservative (a bit of stuffed shirts) in fact when I got promoted and took on more responsibilities within my company, I had to sign a confidentiality contract which included all social media and revealing my rl image & so forth in any form. So indeed I haven’t shared my SL with my workmates and such. It seems the non SL-er has a habit of looking down on us SL citizens. When I first joined SL my brothers were appalled (2 of which play GTA btw :P) . Honestly, I had no idea why, but they soon saw (back then I had my desktop set up in my area up on my bedroom landing/my sitting area is opened to the whole family) so they see how boring my SL life is and quickly changed their opinions. Speaking frankly I find that there is a bit of sneer non Sl-ers have on us & SL. But who cares!!! They that disapprove might be a bit judgmental and I have a feeling they have dirty little secrets they indulge on, such as picking their nose joyously, not washing their hands after leaving the rest room, rudely gossiping about others and never picking up after they walk their dogs in public places. MhM! Seen this all! 😛 10 years in SL here and I don’t give a hoot! Luv Ya & Hugzz Is!

I have always been a pretty open person. I guess in this case to my detriment. Well theirs because I know now.
Their cards are basically marked as far as I’m concerned and I won’t be helpful etc.
I’m not ever embarrassed by SL. Small minds create the visuals that fit in their heads. I’ll rise above that nonsense. Just hurts a little but I’m resilient x
