Balancing when it could break

Seems my wee virtual world may be getting a shake to it.

My computer is having issues and my hard drive keeps disappearing . Not to be found in the normal way either.

So it’s currently showing, but softwares stored there have been corrupted and I’ve had to uninstall and Re download.

On top of that, the computer now regularly gets the blue screen of ooops we had to shut down and restart.

I’ve got a 1TSSD drive arriving tomorrow to assist with the issue but part of me is feeling the days are numbered.

I do have a gaming laptop but it runs like me so thats no positive!

In the meanwhile I’m just biding time and making the best of the ticking clock. Getting used to being in the middle of something then getting kicked.

What will I do? Cry maybe or , yeah no I’ll cry.

Thing is my blog and my filming etc are what keeps me sane in a rather insane world. They’re my peace and stress relief and a way of expressing myself.

Without that. Then there’s me. I’ve always said if Second Life went down tomorrow I’d start being me and real. But my god can you imagine it!!

The real Thelma, Isa, Harriet, Aunty VaGina and Beverley!

So let’s hope you won’t be forced to meet the real characters. On a serious note, if I had to use my laptop it just means meh graphics and tasks would be a lot slower to complete. We shall see.

I wonder if a dance video …..

Why a new hard drive? The BSOD is a thing pretty much exclusive to fukn MS Windows, so software related. And we all know how neglectfully bad most my sisters are when it comes to system maintenance. And then blaming the poor computer for it. 😦

What I’d do is making a backup of my personal files (not the full system) and then reinstalling Win and see how your compi behaves after that. Or better, install fancy workhorse Linux Mint https://linuxmint.com/download.php. Your machine should be running faster and more stable after that.

    1. Actually. I seem to have control of it at the moment. I transferred my entire drive to a SSD one externally which at the moment seems to be helping.
My brother said when he gets a chance (though no idea when) he will come and open machine and check all the connections are ok. If issue still he will put me in another drive.

… because girls are too stupid and blind to take a mini screw driver and open up their own fukn laptops? Oh my, computers aren’t rocket science: a very limited amount of different parts, put together in more or less clever configs, it’s more like LEGO for adults. And what does he expect to find in there? Loose connections? A bit naive with machines that don’t contain actually any moving parts. Well, except the hard drive if it’s a very old or cheap laptop. I that case you have exactly 2 options:
        1) save your data, buy a new laptop
        2) save your data, buy a 2.5″ SSD
Both options you can do yourself ultra quick and technically perfect all by yourself.

Look, I did it in one of my mini desktops. Was but a 5 minutes plug’n’play action and should be way easier in your laptop …

You get SSDs at your friendly local Amazon or Best Buy or whatever computer store you have around. And they are really cheap these days. Just show them your old HDD and they’ll know what you want. But don’t let them sell you another spinner. It’s 2020 and only SSDs are acceptable!

      2. I already have got another SSD. Though I certainly wouldn’t say I’m stupid at all. Messing with electrics in my unit is something I’m not qualified to do and wouldn’t do unless I felt confident to do so.
My brother has full ability to pull apart machines and rebuild them and I’d trust him to do it better than myself because it’s not my skill set. Doesn’t make me stupid at all. Makes me smart because whilst he does it he will supply all the parts required .
My computer has two drives. SSD and a HDD. It’s the HDD that’s gone wrong.

    External. Doesn’t count. 😐

“Messing with electrics in my unit is something I’m not qualified to do and wouldn’t do unless I felt confident to do so.”
It’s not messing around with electric components. We pull the plug before we attempt opening a computer. And also it’s not electrics, just electronics. Really just LEGO for adults, plug and play.

“My brother has full ability to pull apart machines and rebuild them”
So he has the basic cognitive abilities of a human being in the early 21st century. Good for him I say.

“and I’d trust him to do it better than myself because it’s not my skill set.”
Why not? Fukn komputahz are our most important tools, and practically one of the few really centered around and made for females. Boys do cars and motorcycles, boring girls sit at home and do computers. We have the duty to do better with those than the stupid boys; soft- and hardware.

“Doesn’t make me stupid at all. Makes me smart because whilst he does it he will supply all the parts required.”
Oh my. That’s smart in a kinda 1930s way. Smart like the terrible Marlene Dietrich. Use your female charmes to make boys work everything out for you. That’s not real empowerment. 😦

“My computer has two drives. SSD and a HDD. It’s the HDD that’s gone wrong.”
Yes, we figured that out already. So switch it out for an SSD. 5 minutes of a girl’s handiwork, and … swoosh, you’re done! And your computer will work faster and more reliable.

    1. Lol given I don’t have the spare money and currently struggling my brother doing my pc is not me using my Wiley woman charms at all. I make him banana bread and he does my pc. Since kids we do each other favours using our talents. I’m the best banana bread maker this side of the world you know!
Has nothing to do with female empowerment. I don’t like touching electricity and it’s not my skill set. I’m happy to get it done properly than me steaming in potentially messing up something that took me a lot of saving to purchase in the first place. Again parts I cannot afford right now as times are not so easy. Parts are not so cheap either that I would want or need
