All dressed up and nowhere to go

A few weeks ago in my reality there was a clothing sale on in one of the stores I like to shop at. I had an online shop moment and bought myself some new tops.

Last night I sat here wondering why on Earth I needed those new tops and when I’ll get the opportunity to even wear them. The real answer is, no one knows. None the less I still bought them. I don’t even know why.

One part of me sees a sale and thinks yeah go for it. The other part logically says hold back because any spare money right now really needs to be saved.

The world right now is an odd place and we really don’t know what we are going to face economically in the months, maybe years ahead. So I guess the question we need to ask ourselves is really do we need it? What’s the sacrifice we make for that outfit?

I don’t know the answers but what I do understand is that economically we must keep some normal going. But realistically we must also make sure we save what we have in case of any recession coming.

The easiest way we do this, is live our reality in readiness, but in our virtual know we can escape to normality. I never thought I’d ever say this.

Well, that’s how I’m doing it.

How are you living yours?

  1. I’m refraining from shopping in Second Life as much as possible, as I know that’s the quickest way to deplete all my Linden Dollars. I *have* been taking advantage of some of the freebies being offered by stores who are involved in the Stay At Home Club, and I’ve joined groups or subscribers for some of those that offer stuff that interests me. 🙂

I’ve been visiting a few more clubs and music venues the last week or so. I was very pleased to find that The Rubber Room is still going, and is now based at the Hugo Designs store. 🙂 Listening to good DJ sets or live music is a great way to escape from the real world for a while, I find.

    1. Good move
I think we have to be careful with money. Some are luckier financially but us plebs are really needing to be careful. Hence me buying some hair or something in Linden’s is better than reality. I wish to see more merchants participating I. The Stay at home club. I really feel there is no excuse that they don’t all offer something into this idea. But yep I believe 100% we need to be careful as the economic impact will be felt

  2. I agree we do need to be careful with our money right now. When it comes to SL, I rarely spend Lindens on things. I stick to the hunts, giveaways, events with discounted items, and really good sales. Right now I have an inventory full of things it will take a long time for me to unpack. 🙂

    1. Omg my inventory is nuts. I’m redoing a half region with a friend and I threw out loads of houses etc and I think her silence on the other end was her passing out lol
I’m a house whore. Honestly no idea why but houses and sofas . I wish my rl was as rich but sadly it is not

      1. *laughs hard* I hope she didnt hurt herself when she fainted. 🙂 I thought my inventory was nuts. I think I have a skybox that I will never use. Not much into furniture. Don’t really see the need for it. I wish my rl was as rich too. But am content with having a very rich and full second life, mostly because of the friends.
