Coffee and loss of Virtual friends

Today’s Coffee with Isa is not a happy go lucky subject and actually wasn’t the original topic I had planned to chat about.

But events this weekend changed that and It was suggested I talk about this.

When we lose people in our lives we often reflect on the good times and cherish those memories.

But what happens when you lose people you virtually know….

  1. There’s no difference between friendships formed in the usual way and friendships that are formed virtually. The emotions are involved and engaged in both cases – at least for those people who have a heart. Even before the web we used to have pen pals, didn’t we. The literary relationships built up over years of correspondence and in many cases those friends never met. But still… the friendships were as strong as any other relationship and some of those even made novels! Human friendships are as delicate, as vibrant and as beautiful as they always were – yesterday and today. And when they break, for whatever reason, the loss is just the same. That’s why SL® has memorial sims. I don’t know about FB, but that would be an excellent idea. *hhuuggsss*
