Now looking at my cover picture you may be lulled into thinking that it’s spring and the flowers are out? Birds singing and all is idyllic?

It rained today, so much so that by the time I got to work st 7.30 am, I was wetter than a fish swimming in a tsunami!

Seriously worked all day like it and the only dry part of me was my backside. Go figure on that as I can’t work that out.

I’m now sat in a bus taking my damp self home wishing that just like my pixelated person I was in a bluebell field of flowers, the sun shining on me and wearing something just like this little lacy dress from Ison.

I’m guessing that I can’t pack away my useless rain mac just yet after its it is England, a surprise every day.

That dress

“A woman’s dress should be like a barbed-wire fence: serving its purpose without obstructing the view. ” Sophia Loren.
What we wear tends to define us in the eyes of other people. It shouldn’t, but it still continues to do so.

If you wear something tight and short an automatic assumption is flirty and sexy, maybe a little wanton. Or power dresser, in control, flaunting but not revealing.

If you wear total coverage, flat shoes, maybe a prude, a little self concious and not open. Lacking in ambition and drive.

Even in this day and age of “equality” and  more relaxed attitudes, the preconceptions are still hovering over how people perceive  others in what they wear and how they look.

I saw an article in the UK press recently which of course sent my internal grrrr to combustulation point.

It was regarding a agency worker (female) who took an assignment at a company and upon her first day starting was told to go home and change her shoes, or pop out and buy some new ones. If she didn’t, not to return!

Basically she turned up for work in flat shoes and the expectation was that she should (must) wear heels.

She won her case and the employer had to reconsider changing its policies. Which frankly I would call sexist and totally disengenuous to any woman in the workplace.

I used to wear heels and now I wear flats. It’s made absolutely no difference to my ability to do my job or the brain I have in my head. In fact, it means I get around a lot quicker (because I can walk ) and for me personally being comfortable means I’m more productive.

That said, I have friends who find the reverse, they can’t walk in flats and can walk better in heels.

Moral of this story……clothes are just a minor detail and do not define a person.

But I do so love this little red dress, and I will wear heels with this.

What a difference a day makes

Sunday morning here in the UK and it’s a bank holiday weekend.

I’m lazing on the sofa watching a little person crawling around exploring everything I’ve tried to moved out of reach, with little success.

I managed to finally finish off a track yesterday. I like it, but then I don’t. Go figure on that, but  I can’t quite put my finger on the bit I don’t like. But here it is Drives you crazy

A video will of course be made at some stage….

In the fantasy realms yesterday I visited the Uber event and picked up some pretty lovely pixel attire.

Of course I shall show you over the next few days. Today’s is by .miss Chelsea. The Elie top and shorts.

I must I must decrease my bust

So, summer is around the corner and the one thing on most women’s minds is shifting a pound or two, or three or four.

I’m one of those women and frankly I’ve woken up today and asked myself why we spend a great portion of our lives fixated on what we look like?

Why are we so obsessed with what we look like?

It makes absolutely no real difference to the value of life and the people we live and care about. Or does it?

Being fit and healthy does mean a better quality of life and it does mean the ability to physically achieve more. However the obsession we have with being a certain size actually seems to perpetuate our need to look different to what we actually are and it’s absolutely crazy. Because it’s that same obsession which then leads to weight gain and a lifetime of yo yo diets and health issues.

It’s funny I don’t recall my mum ever worrying about her weight. I never saw her say no to a slice of cake or a nibble of a biscuit. She never had a weight issue.

Yet from the age of around 15 I started to obsess in trying to look like the girl in my class that I considered beautiful.

I wasn’t fat looking back. In fact I was never plump until post children, yet I placed such restrictions on myself .

I’m waking up today and considering the fact that I’ve wasted a large portion of my life feeling concerned that I should look like someone else, when in fact there really isn’t anything wrong with who I am. Crazy! It’s taken me near a lifetime to work that one out.

Like a lot of women I equated what I look like to whether I’ve had successful relationships. Again, crazy.

So today I’m going to stop obsessing and just live. It doesn’t matter that I don’t have the body of an athlete. After all I’m not an athlete. What does matter is the example I set to my daughter and all the other young women out there who may think they have to look like someone they’re not.

We are all beautiful in many different ways. Embrace it.

Have a lovely Friday. X

I’m a Maitreya girl living as a CATWA girl. Wearing Argrace hair,  Erratic and Just BECAUSE bikini’s and a great big smile.

Summers coming and I keep feeling fascination, looking, learning and moving on.

Landing and washing

I’m back.

Back to normality and work and my pixel self today.

Piles of washing and work emails that have yet to be tackled.

Do I want to disappear off back to Scotland again. Resounding yes to that plan.

But for now reality means I must work and do what I do.

Damn don’t you wish every day could feel like a holiday?

So back into one of my Fantasy Faire dresses to scrub the washing and hang it up to dry. Summer is coming and I best get ready.

Peek a boo

Ok anyone who has watched Outlander will recognise a few pics today.

I pretended I was her and parallel visited my past self. Ahhh if only it was so real, I may have stayed there.

It’s along beautiful coastline of Fife walking from St Monans to Elie. A very long Coastal walk I might add. Tad sunburnt, wind burnt or is that simply ocean glare? I’m not sure. Suffice to say I’m a little beetroot shade at the moment.

Back home tonight. Then it’s all over . Back to reality and life as we know it.

I shall miss him greatly. It was good to reconnect after this time apart. Fact is, I want to stay.
